On Monday, October 19, 2009, we decided to take a short drive on the Ohio River Scenic Byway. I had not really driven on the road before and I did not know what to expect. I had never been to Tell City before, so we started there.
We headed west and made it to Derby before dark. We had a couple of kids with us....so of course we had to hit nearly every playground we saw. LOL
The road on hwy 66 west from Cannelton was SPECTACULAR. I would recommend it highly..
The pic below was taken in Derby. It shows the level of the floods that have occured in the last 80 years.
Look in the middle of the pic and you can see the windyness of the road.
Another great drive is the Indiana's Historic Pathway, which is the US 50/150 corridor across the state. Part of it follows the Buffalo Trace. The Pathway just this week was designated as a National Byway. You can pick up maps & info at any of the county CVB's & Visitors Centers, or at www.usi.edu/hsi and click on "Resource Center". There will be brochures available soon for this scenic byway.
